Businesses building AI video workflows need more than a content policy to address deceptive deepfake risk. The product should connect consent and client purpose to the actions users can take.

01

Prevent unauthorized identity use

Require a documented basis before a user can select a person's likeness. Make consent, identity status, asset scope, and client purpose visible to the application. A public image or recognizable face should not be treated as open material for generation.

For sensitive identity verification, use a specialist provider and disclose the data handling. Do not ask a general application to store raw ID images or biometric payloads unless a reviewed security and legal design requires it.

02

Block deceptive and harmful contexts

Define prohibited use cases such as deceptive impersonation, fabricated endorsements, harassment, or other disallowed material. Some rules should be hard-coded and not user-editable. High-risk cases may need human review beyond an automated prompt filter.

Rule-based screening can find certain terms but cannot reliably interpret every context. Keep that limitation clear, monitor reports, and have an escalation process for urgent concerns.

03

Provide reporting and response

Make it possible to report a suspected misuse with enough information to identify the client, output, and asset. A report should create a traceable case, notify the right reviewer, and support a temporary hold when the policy allows it.

Plan who investigates, how evidence is preserved, when the affected person is updated, and what action can be taken against a client. Test this path before the product allows real use.

04

Keep responsibility visible

A product's safety controls work only when the roles, provider checks, client terms, and support operations match. Do not describe an incomplete prototype as protection against all misuse.

Approved.video is designed to connect consent and asset restrictions to an application workflow. It does not claim that rule-based screening is comprehensive or that an unconnected generation provider has enforced a requested block.

Questions & answers

Can a prompt filter prevent every deepfake misuse?

No. Prompt filters are one control and may miss context or transformed language. Combine layered checks with reporting and human response.
